Zemanta is one of those services that when you sign up and use can help you build a social fabric of links and cross links without having to know a lot of people who are blogging about your particular subject.

Zemanta is a browser plug in that works with Word Press and other systems that can help you find pictures, relevant content, and other things to add to your blog. This does not have to be automatic either, you can pick and choose what you want to put into the system, and what you do not want to put into the system. Your blog then becomes a platform for connecting to other people.

Make sure you have your word press settings to notify other blogs that you have linked to them as well. This provides you with the track back that is important in building part of your social fabric.

Zemanta looks like this when it is actually working, sometimes working can be spotty, it does not always work well or consistently within the browser/blog writing platform. Sometimes it will just fail to launch and you might need to reload the plug-in if that is the case. If you are in a hurry to get that entry out, skipping Zemanta is ok, but you do want this plug in to work.

This also works great to build up technorati links when you register your blog with the program, other people will also pick up your content. All links go at the bottom of the page, and truly reflect the creativity that is the blogosphere; we all link to each other to help provide information about a topic or subject.

Zemanta cuts the leg work that you need to do, and when you are cranking blog entries, Zemanta can be your best friend.
